On September 10, 2024, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) hosted a vibrant Teachers' Day celebration! With 45 faculty members joining the festivities, we also received 35 fantastic pieces of feedback (feedback details are provided at the end of this newsletter)
As we celebrate Teachers' Day 2024, the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) extends its heartfelt gratitude and warmest wishes to each and every one of you. Your dedication to education, passion for teaching, and unwavering commitment to our students are truly inspiring.
To commemorate this special occasion, we have organized a series of activities to celebrate your remarkable achievements and contributions to education. From delightful treats to thoughtful gifts, and a special CTL photo board to capture memories, we aim to make Teachers' Day a joyous celebration filled with appreciation and happiness.
During the event, teachers shared their latest educational ideas and discussed how they have incorporated modern technology, such as learning management systems and online resources, to enhance their teaching practices. New and returning faculty members exchanged contact information, teaching experiences, and research insights, fostering a collaborative and supportive academic environment. The day also brought together educators from various departments to explore opportunities for cross-curricular collaboration. Additionally, faculty members expressed strong interest in the work of the CTL and considered the potential for hosting future workshops.
Regarding the question, 'Select any emerging trends in educational technology that you would like to learn more about,' the data highlighted a significant interest in 'Using AI in Teaching.' Coincidentally, the CTL is set to offer a course focused on this area. Professors who are actively using AI or are experts in the field, please take note of this opportunity. Join us and collaborate with us! Additionally, active learning remains a key goal for both faculty and the CTL. We offer Instructional Skills Workshops (ISW), which are particularly beneficial for enhancing student engagement. The latest workshop is scheduled for October 19. We warmly invite interested faculty to discuss these opportunities with us and look forward to your participation. We will continue to conduct workshops and webinars on these relevant and engaging topics.
Our project is ongoing, and at the same time, we are planning to introduce new projects and services shortly. Please stay updated with CTL, as the website will be refreshed soon. Stay in touch!
